COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's junior sprinter
Kevin Arthur (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) was named the MIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, April 5.
Arthur led SJU at its first outdoor meet of the season by winning two events, the 100- (10.67) and 200-meter (21.50) dashes, April 2 at the Hamline Invitational. His time in the 200-meter dash was a program record, breaking a 54-year mark set by Dave Lamm '68 in 1968 (21.3 handheld, 21.54 converted), and is seventh-best in NCAA Division III this season. Arthur's 100-meter time was 0.05 from his personal best and is currently good for fourth in Division III.
The Johnnies host an open meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, in Clemens Stadium, as well as their two-day decathlon Saturday-Sunday. The decathlon's final five events begin at noon Sunday.
