SJU Ends Soccer Season With 1-0 Loss in MIAC Semifinals

ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John's soccer ended its 2022 season with a 1-0 loss to No. 5 Gustavus Adolphus in the MIAC semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Clarence Weah scored the game's lone goal for GAC (14-0-4, 9-0-1 MIAC), his second of the season, in the 72nd minute.

Senior forward Ryan Erickson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan) nearly gave SJU (8-7-3, 4-5-1 MIAC) an early 1-0 lead when he hit the post in the 25th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Evan Siefken (Lakeville, Minn./North) made six saves in the loss.

The Gusties finished with a 15-11 (7-4 on net) advantage in shots and corner kicks were 10-7 in favor of the home team. SJU, however, registered stat margins in shots (8-5) and corner kicks (5-2) in the second half.
