NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saint John's cross country finished seventh out of 28 teams at the NCAA North Regional on Saturday, Nov. 12, on the campus of St. Olaf in Northfield.
No. 10 Wisconsin-Whitewater won the race with a total of 73 points, followed by No. 4 Wisconsin La Crosse (83), No. 12 St. Olaf (110) and No. 28 Wisconsin-Stout (119).
The Johnnies collected 224 points for their 36th top-eight finish in their last 40 NCAA Regionals dating back to 1982.

Lloyd Young (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) earned his second consecutive All-Region honor (top 35 individually) with a 10th-place finish in 24:53.
Junior
Tommy Allen (Woodbury, Minn./St. Paul Academy) crossed the finish line in 49th (25:47) and was followed closely by senior
Dillon Diekmann (Lake Elmo, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) in 52nd (25:52) and junior
Carter Grove (Osakis, Minn.) in 55th (25:55). Sophomore
Eamon Cavanaugh (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 63rd (26:03).
Each of the 10 regional champions earn an automatic bid to nationals and 22 teams will receive an at-large berth. In addition, 70 individuals - the top seven runners not on qualifying teams - earn automatic selection based on their finish at the regional.
The field for the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships is expected to be announced no later than 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, on www.ncaa.com.
The men's race begins at 11 a.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 19, at Forest Akers G.C. in East Lansing, Mich.
