ST. PAUL, Minn. – Saint John's cross country finished second out of 11 teams at the 2022 MIAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Highland 9 Golf Course in St. Paul.
No. 14 St. Olaf won the conference title with 32 points, followed by SJU (59), Carleton (78) and Macalester (152).
Four Johnnies finished in the top 15 to earn All-MIAC honors.
Junior
Lloyd Young (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) collected his second consecutive All-MIAC honor and led SJU in fourth place out of 169 runners with a time of 25:03.
Senior
Dillon Diekmann (Lake Elmo, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) followed in 11th (25:45), while juniors
Carter Grove (Osakis, Minn.) and
Tommy Allen (Woodbury, Minn./St. Paul Academy) crossed the finish line in 13th (25:48) and 14th (25:53), respectively.
Senior
Alexei Hensel (Buffalo, Minn.) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 17th (26:09).
The Johnnies host their annual Fall Finale at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, near the Water Tower in Collegeville.
