COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Due to COVID-19 testing protocols, the Saint John's basketball team's game at Bethel scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 5, has been canceled.
According to the MIAC COVID-19 competition plan, any contest that is unable to be completed due to COVID-19, roster-related issues on the assigned date will be considered a forfeit in the conference standings. This plan was approved by the MIAC President's Council in October.
The Johnnies will be credited with a 2-0 win in the MIAC standings. For NCAA purposes, however, the game will be declared a "no contest" and does not count in the overall record.
Wednesday's game may be rescheduled for a later date as a non-conference game, but will not count in the MIAC standings.
SJU's (9-2, 7-0 MIAC) next scheduled game is a 7 p.m. tilt against St. Olaf on Monday, Jan. 10, in Sexton Arena.
