A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's (2-2-1 overall) scored a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation in a 2-2 draw at Wisconsin-Whitewater last Saturday (Sept. 11).

Junior forward Brandt Belisle's (St. Paul, Minn./St. Croix Prep) second career goal came at the perfect time for SJU - 59 seconds remaining - to tie the game at 2-2. Sophomore midfielder Cole Ober (Hudson, Wis.) sent a long ball into the box, where UWW's goalkeeper and defenders deflected it off each other before Belisle walked in for the dramatic goal.

The Warhawks built a 2-0 lead with goals in the 62nd and 81st minutes.

Junior midfielder Matt D. Anderson (Omaha, Neb./Creighton Prep) cut UWW's lead in half with his second goal of the season and fifth of his career with 7:43 left to play. A throw in from senior midfielder Drew Engel (De Pere, Wis.) went to Belisle, who chipped it to Anderson in the box.

Freshman goalkeeper Evan Siefken (Lakeville, Minn./North) made six saves in his first collegiate tie.

Whitewater out-shot SJU 14-11 (8-5 on net) and registered a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. SJU was whistled for offsides three times. The two teams combined for 27 fouls and six yellow cards.

A LOOK AT THE COUGARS: Minnesota-Morris (0-4-0 overall) suffered a heartbreaking, 1-0 loss in double overtime Friday (Sept. 10) at Hamline. The Pipers were awarded a penalty kick in the 103rd minute and Jared Garcia capitalized for the game-winning goal. HU out-shot UMM, 15-6 (8-2 on goal), and totaled 12 corner kicks. Freshman Tommy Ellis and sophomore Carter Watkinson account for the Cougars' goals so far this season, as UMM has been out-scored, 11-2. Junior Lucas Harmon has played all 372:03 in goal this fall and has a 2.66 GAA and a .694 save percentage (25 saves).

BACK IN 2018: SJU cruised to a 3-0 win at Minnesota-Morris the last time these two teams met on Oct. 7, 2018. The Johnnies out-shot the Cougars by a 25-4 (13-3 on goal) margin, including a 20-1 (10-1 on net) advantage in the second half.

Ben Becker '20 scored the Johnnies' first two goals, his sixth and seventh of the season (second and third of the weekend). Paul Wadsworth '21 possessed the ball following a scrum at the left side of the box and found Becker, who tucked in a shot 10:23 into the match.

Andrew Weiler '19 played Becker to the left wing and the junior dribbled into the box and beat the keeper to the near post in the 71st minute for a 2-0 lead.

Brian Pacceli and senior Guy Mohs (Long Lake, Minn./Orono) put together a nifty play for Nathan Stone '20 to end the scoring with his second collegiate goal six minutes later. Pacceli serviced the ball to the back post, where Mohs headed it back across the box for another header from Stone.

Nicholas French '20 made three saves to earn his second shutout of the season, sixth of his career, and improve to 4-1 on the year.
