Final Results
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Saint John's finished fourth out of 11 teams at the 2020 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, Feb. 29, in Collegeville.
St. Thomas won its 36th consecutive MIAC indoor title with 186 points. Concordia-Moorhead claimed second (92), followed by Carleton (91), SJU (85) and Bethel (78).
The Johnnies claimed the top two marks in the triple jump, led by sophomore
Michael Wallace's (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Anne's) MIAC-championship leap of 14.39 meters. The mark is 15th in NCAA Division III this season. Senior
Collin Trout (Cloquet, Minn.) earned his fourth All-MIAC honor (top three individually, champion relay) in the event, third indoors, in second (14.30 meters).
Freshman
Maguire Petersen (Hutchinson, Minn.) earned All-MIAC honors with a second-place finish in the high jump (2.01 meters) and sophomore
Sam Rademacher (Marshall, Minn.) followed in eighth (1.88 meters).
Sophomore
Jack Young (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) missed All-MIAC distinction by 0.08 of a second to take fourth (22.58) in the 200-meter dash, while junior
Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace) finished eighth (22.72).
Sophomore
Eli Mollet (Jefferson, S.D./Bishop Heelan Catholic) placed sixth in the shot put (14.10 meters) and freshman
Mitch Grand (Hutchinson, Minn.) claimed eighth in the 1,000 meters (2:35.44).
SJU's 4x200-meter relay took third (1:29.81) and the 4x400-meter relay finished sixth (3:26.74).
The Johnnies compete at the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Qualifier at 10:30 a.m. next Saturday, March 7.
