Box Score

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Saint John's hockey ended its 2019-20 season with a 4-1 loss to St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

Brett Gravelle put St. Thomas (14-10-3, 9-6-1 MIAC) on the scoreboard with a power-play goal with 2:59 left in the first period and made it 2-0 halfway through the second.

UST extended its lead with a pair of third-period goals before senior forward Kyle Wagner (St. Francis, Minn.) erased the shutout for SJU (12-9-5, 9-3-4 MIAC) with his sixth goal of the season, during a 4-on-3 power play, with 28 seconds remaining.

Senior goaltender Andrew Lindgren (Minneapolis, Minn.) made 22 saves in the loss.

SJU out-shot UST 35-26 but went 1-for-7 on the power play, accumulating nine shots on goal in 9:23 of advantage. Sophomore forward Davis Kirkendall (Hamel, Minn.) hit the pipe, what would have tied the game at 1-1, during a power play early in the second period.
