NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saint John's track and field won seven events and recorded 11 top-three marks/times (29 in the top five) at St. Olaf's Tostrud Classic on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Northfield.
Team scores were not calculated at the meet, which featured participants from Bethel, Carleton, Crown, Hamline, Macalester and Northwestern (in addition to the Johnnies and Oles).
Sophomore
Eli Mollet (Jefferson, S.D./Bishop Heelan Catholic) won the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 16.94 meters, the second-best mark in SJU history. He also finished fourth in the shot put (13.41 meters).
Tim Juba '11 holds SJU's record in the weight throw with a mark of 17.43 meters, which he set as a senior in 2011.
The Johnnies recorded the top three marks in the triple jump. The reigning MIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, senior
Collin Trout (Cloquet, Minn.), recorded a season-best leap of 14.37 meters to take first. Sophomore
Michael Wallace (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Anne's) claimed second (12.84 meters) and freshman
Alex Crnkovich (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) took third (12.80 meters).
Freshman
Maguire Petersen (Hutchinson, Minn.) tied for first place in the high jump with a height of 2.01 meters, while freshman
Jared Meier (Jordan, Minn./Shakopee) and sophomore
Sam Rademacher (Marshall, Minn.) tied for third (1.86 meters).
Junior
Drew Dockendorf (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Holdingford) won the pole vault with a mark of 4.75 meters, 0.15 meters from his season-best height, and freshman
Joe Stauffer (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) followed in third (4.10 meters).
Freshman
Kevin Arthur (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) won the 60-meter dash in 7.15 seconds and sophomore
Andy Goldsmith (Tulsa, Okla./Cascia Hall) won the 5,000 meters (15:57.47).
Sophomore
Jack Young (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) won the 200-meter dash (22.93) and Arthur missed third place by 0.09 of a second (23.29).
A pair of freshmen,
Mitch Grand (Hutchinson, Minn.) and
Lloyd Young (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy), finished second (4:20.81) and third (4:24.87), respectively, in the mile run.
Sophomore
Danny Welshons (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) finished third (8.86) in the 60-meter hurdles, 0.03 ahead of freshman
Jared Stanke (Anoka, Minn./Elk River) in fourth (8.89).
SJU's 4x400-meter relay (

The Johnnies return home to host the 2020 MIAC Indoor Championships this Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 27-29, at the Donald McNeely Spectrum in Collegeville.
