Johnnies Vault to Second Place in MIAC With 4-1 Win

ST. PETER, Minn. - Saint John's hockey scored four unanswered goals to earn a 4-1 road win at Gustavus Adolphus on Friday, Feb. 14, in St. Peter.

Ten different Johnnies recorded a point in the win, which enabled SJU (9-8-5, 6-3-4 MIAC) to bolt into second place in the MIAC standings.

Logan Norman gave the Gusties (10-9-3, 6-5-2 MIAC) an early 1-0 lead 2:15 into the game.

SJU took control with a pair of goals in the second period. Junior forward Tanner Dufault (Kasson, Minn.) tied the game at 1-1 on a nice feed from senior forward Kyle Wagner (St. Francis, Minn.) near the end-wall, for his third goal of the season 54 seconds into the second period. Freshman forward Auggie Moore (Edina, Minn.) made it 2-1 on his eighth goal of the season with 10:53 left in the frame.

Sophomore forward Davis Kirkendall (Hamel, Minn.) padded the Johnnies' lead on his eighth goal of the year after junior forward Tristyn Sabina (Kansas City, Mo.) took advantage of a Gustie turnover in the Johnnies' offensive zone. 

Sophomore forward Brady Dahl (Rochester, Minn.) sealed the win with an empty-net goal, his fifth tally of the season, with 1:08 remaining.

Senior goaltender Andrew Lindgren (Minneapolis, Minn.) made 25 saves to improve to 5-7-2 on the year (29-22-9 career).

The Johnnies play host to the Gusties for Senior Night at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
