COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University junior thrower Kai Barber (Minneapolis, Minn./Totino-Grace) was named the MIAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, April 2.

Fresh off his 10th-place finish March 9 at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, Barber won the shot put with a toss of 15.97 meters and finished third in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 47.29 meters March 31 at the Saint John's Invitational. His throw in the shot put is good for fifth in NCAA Division III so far this season.

Barber was one of seven Johnnies to win an event as SJU opened its outdoor schedule with a first-place finish out of five teams at the meet. 

SJU travels to compete at the Hamline Invitational this Saturday, April 6, at Klas Field in St. Paul.
