COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – No. 15 Saint John's basketball shot 69 percent (20-for-29) in the second half in a 94-75 rout of No. 6 St. Thomas in front of a packed arena on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Collegeville.
The Johnnies (20-4, 16-3 MIAC) out-rebounded (36-19) and out-scored (54-42) the Tommies in the paint, while making eight of their 12 three-point attempts.

Colton Codute (Wayzata, Minn./Orono) answered with two treys of his own. The latter started a 17-4 run, over a 3:39 span, which gave the home team its largest lead of the game (21, 90-69).
Hanson led all scorers, and six Johnnies in double figures, with a career-high 22 points in 27 minutes.
Senior guard
David Stokman (Maple Lake, Minn.) was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range and finished with 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. The five assists lifted him past head coach

Junior post
Lucas Walford (Elko, Minn./New Prague) just missed his fourth consecutive double-double with 14 points, nine boards and four assists. Junior wing
Jubie Alade (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) followed with 12 points and four assists.
Codute and senior wing
Ethan Larson (Independence, Minn./Orono) combined for 21 of the team's 30 points off the bench. Codute totaled 11 points, four assists and four rebounds, while Larson added 10 points and three rebounds in 11 minutes.
Connor Bair led four Tommies in double digits with 15 points, 12 of which came in the first half. Anders Nelson added 14 points and G.T. Johnson doubled his season average (5.2 ppg.) with 13 points and a team-high five rebounds.
UST out-scored SJU 30-26 in the paint in the first half, but shot 40 percent (12-for-30) in the game's final 20 minutes to finish at 50.9 percent (29-for-57) overall and 30.4 percent (7-for-23) from behind the arc. The visitors reached the bonus, due to the Johnnies' seventh foul of the half, with 10:30 remaining and went 5-for-7 at the line the rest of the way.
SJU posted a 28-12 scoring advantage in the paint in the second half.
The Johnnies play host to Carleton (7-17, 5-14 MIAC) for its Alumni/Senior Day at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in Sexton Arena.
SJU will honor former head basketball coach
Jim Smith during a special event at 5 p.m. Saturday following the game in Guild Hall (Old Gym). Social hour begins at 5 p.m. with dinner and program at 6:15 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and includes a game ticket, dinner and beverages. Casual attire is appropriate. -
