TUCSON, Ariz. – Saint John's baseball improved to 11-2 with a sweep of Wisconsin-Superior, 7-3 and 8-0, on Sunday, March 18.

Already in the top 15 of NCAA Division III's winningest active coaches, SJU's Jerry Haugen is now two wins shy of 800 for his career (a 798-638-5 career record).

The Johnnies take on Allegheny (Pa.) for a 10 a.m. MST doubleheader on Monday, March 19.

Junior outfielders Jack Wingerd (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) and Max Jackson (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall), the Johnnies' second and third hitters in the lineup, combined to go 8-for-10 at the plate with six RBI and five runs scored on the day.

SJU answered the Yellowjackets' (0-6 overall) run in the bottom of the second inning with five in the top of the third, sparked by senior first baseman Jeron Terres' (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) two-run single, in game one.

Junior Lance Kilde (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) allowed the three runs, though two were earned, on seven hits in four innings to improve to 2-0 on the year. Junior Alex Budde (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) allowed two hits and struck out three in the game's final three innings to earn SJU's first save of the season.

The Johnnies registered three hits and three runs in each of the first two innings to gain a comfortable lead in game two.

Senior Nick Noack (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) scattered three hits in four innings to pick up his second win of the season (2-0 record), while sophomores Aaron Kloeppner (Dayton, Minn./Champlin Park) and Stanley Ridgeway (Litchfield, Minn.) contributed for the combined shutout.
