COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – No. 24 Saint John's basketball continued its winning ways with a 92-63 victory over Hamline on Saturday, Dec. 8, in Sexton Arena.
The Johnnies (6-1, 3-0 MIAC) have now won 17 consecutive home regular-season games going back to the 2016-17 campaign. SJU out-rebounded the Pipers (4-4, 2-2 MIAC) 44-24, posted a 52-28 scoring advantage in the paint and tallied 19 points off nine Piper turnovers.
Junior wing
Jubie Alade (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) led five Johnnies in double figures with 19 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds for his first collegiate double-double, and collected four assists and two steals.
SJU shot 60 percent (18-for-30) in the first half to take a 45-33 lead into the break. The Johnnies entered the game as the NCAA Division III leader in three-point percentage (.483) and were fourth in shooting percentage (.546). The home team finished at 57.8 percent (37-for-64) from the field Saturday.
Senior guard
David Stokman (Maple Lake, Minn.) followed with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. The 17 points lifted him past Bill Christopherson '53 and Tom Melancon '68 into 15th on SJU's all-time scoring list with 1,170 career points.

Lucas Walford (Elko, Minn./New Prague) posted his third double-double of the season, and seventh of his career, with 13 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes. He also dished four assists and blocked four shots.

Ethan Novacinski (St. Joseph, Minn./St. Cloud Apollo) poured in 12 points in 18 minutes off the bench and sophomore wing
Oakley Baker (Geneva, Minn./New Richland-Heartland-Ellendale-Geneva) added 10 points.
Ethan Scheuring led Hamline, which shot 39.3 percent (22-for-56) from the field and 15.8 percent (3-for-19) from behind the arc, with 22 points and seven rebounds.
Scheuring made a trey to bring Hamline within eight (47-39) two minutes into the second half, but SJU responded with a 12-0 run and led by as much as 35 (92-57) with 2:16 left.
SJU is now 86-27 against HU since the 1964-65 season, including a 49-9 record in Collegeville.
The Johnnies travel to face Saint Mary's for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Dec. 12, in Winona.
