WAVERLY, Iowa – A pair of Saint John's University track student-athletes competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, May 26, at Wartburg's Walston-Hoover Stadium in Waverly, Iowa.

Junior Ryan Bugler (Okinawa, Japan/Kubasaki) finished fourth in the second heat with a time of 9:15.48, seven seconds from his season-best time of 9:08.50, to take 10th out of 20 runners and advance to Saturday's final at 12:30 p.m. He is the first Johnnie to compete in the event at nationals since Chris Erichsen '08 earned All-America honors with a pair of second-place finishes in 2007 and 2008.

Senior Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) ended his season with a 16th-place finish out of 20 runners in the 1,500-meter prelims. He took seventh with a time of 3:55.62, six seconds from his season-best time of 3:49.92 set last Thursday (May 19), in the second heat to claim 14th overall. The top 12 times advanced to Saturday's final. His season-best time would have made the cut (12th place) by 0:00.06.

Both runners were U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honorees in cross country and outdoor track and field during the 2015-16 academic year.
