Day 1 Results
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's won two titles and is in second place following the first day of the 2016 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 13, at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
The final day of competition is scheduled to begin with field events at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, followed by track events at 3 p.m.
St. Thomas leads the 11-team field with 84 points, followed by SJU (52.5), Hamline (28.5) and Concordia-Moorhead (28).
Senior
Randy Perez (Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta) won the MIAC title in the javelin with a throw of 57.26 meters. The conference championship is the first for SJU in the javelin since 2003 (Tom Engwall).
The Johnnies' 4x800-meter relay (

Kevin Lamb,
Thomas Feichtinger) also won the MIAC title with a time of 7:56.83, two seconds ahead of the Cobbers.
Junior
Maxwell Olson (Warrensburg, Mo.) and senior
Matt Devery (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy) went 2 (4.71 meters)-3 (4.46 meters) to earn All-MIAC honors (top three individually, champion relay) in the pole vault.
Junior
Maxwell Kuzara (Excelsior, Minn./Minnetonka) earned All-MIAC honors with a third-place finish in the 10,000 meters (32:57.85), while senior
Andrew Hansen (Eden Prairie, Minn.) followed close behind in fourth (32:59.45).
Freshman
Kai Barber (Minneapolis, Minn./Totino-Grace) finished fourth in the shot put, three feet and eight inches from third place/All-MIAC recognition.
Senior
Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) recorded the fastest time in the 1,500 meters (4:15.82).
Freshman
Max Martin (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata) posted the third-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles (15.62) and will be joined in Saturday's final by sophomore
Mitchell Peck (15.89; Alexandria, Minn.). The two will also compete in the 400-meter final.
SJU will have an opportunity to pick up double-digit points with four sprinters in the 100-meter dash finals: junior
Evan Clark (11.12; Phoenix, Ariz./Apollo), junior
Ryan Kuester (11.12; Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake), freshman
Drew Schoenbauer (11.12; New Prague, Minn.) and freshman
Anthony Clarke (11.13; Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata). Schoenbauer will also compete in the 200-meter dash final.
The Johnnies posted the fastest time in the 4x100-meter relay (42.58).
