Seniors Lead SJU to Fall Finale Win

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's cross country won its six-team Fall Finale on a balmy Friday, Nov. 4, in Collegeville.

SJU totaled 15 points, followed by Bethel (51), Martin Luther (90) and Gustavus Adolphus (115).

The Johnnies' top 7-10 runners did not compete in order to rest for the NCAA Central Regional, which will be held next Saturday, Nov. 12. The race is scheduled for noon on Carleton's campus in Northfield. 

Senior Sam Friesen (Excelsior, Minn./Minnetonka) led all NCAA Division III participants with a 12th-place finish out of 84 runners with an 8k time of 26:54. Senior Alex Charbonneau (New Richmond, Wis.) followed closely in 14th (27:14) and senior Daniel Zoltek (East Garafraxa, Ontario/Robert F. Hall) was the first of four consecutive Johnnies to cross the finish line in 18th (27:30).
