COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – No. 8 Augsburg recorded six bonus-point wins in a 37-4 victory over Saint John's on Sunday, Jan. 24, in Collegeville.

The defending NCAA Division III champions, Augsburg (11-2 dual record) jumped out to a 7-0 lead and won the final seven matches to earn the dual victory.

Senior Ben Henle (Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer) accrued 3:08 of riding time and recorded a takedown with two seconds remaining to put SJU (3-13 dual record) on the scoreboard with an 11-3 major decision at 141 pounds. Henle is ranked seventh nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) and is 15-9 on the year.

All five major decisions in the dual were recorded by the exact eight-point margin.

Down 7-0 in the third period, sophomore T.J. Fulton (Wabasso, Minn.) battled back to within three (9-6), only to lose by a 15-7 score in his third collegiate match at 157 pounds. 

Junior Teddy Erickson (Annandale, Minn.) scored a takedown with 30 seconds remaining to close within two (8-6), but lost by a 9-6 score at 165 pounds.

The Johnnies host the annual North Country Open at 9 a.m. this Saturday, Jan. 30, in Sexton Arena.
