ResultsCOLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's track and field put together another strong outing to win its own triangular meet on Saturday, April 11, in Collegeville.
The Johnnies recorded 17 top-three finishes, including five wins, in events that included participants from Concordia-Moorhead and Michigan Tech. SJU totaled 232 points, followed by Michigan Tech (212) and Concordia (96).
Junior
Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) won two events, the 800 meters (1:53.99) and 1,500 meters (3:54.64). His time in the 800 is good for second in the MIAC so far this season, while his 1:53.99 in the 1,500 shaved three seconds off his MIAC-leading time of 3:57.59.
Sophomore
Ryan Bugler (Okinawa, Japan/Okinawa Christian School International) took first in the 5,000 meters (15:51.18), while classmate
Joe Koll (Winona, Minn./Cotter) placed first in the long jump (6.51 meters).
Sophomore
Raymond Twumasi (Coon Rapids, Minn.) and Koll faced off in the triple jump, with Twumasi taking first with the MIAC's top mark of 13.68 meters.
Sophomore
Peyton Thiry (Lester Prairie, Minn./Lester Prairie-Holy Trinity) won an all-SJU field in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.27 meters, which is good for third in the MIAC.
The Johnnies' 4x400-meter relay crossed the finish line first in 3:25.49, an improvement of 1.05 seconds from its MIAC-leading time.
