SJU (13-9, 11-6 MIAC) shot 56 percent (28-for-50) for the game and led by 15 (37-22) at the half. The Knights (9-13, 6-11 MIAC), meanwhile, shot only 25.9 percent (15-for-58) from the field and went 10:07 between made field goals in the first half as the Johnnies turned a one-point deficit (9-8) into a 14-point lead (27-13) with 6:41 to play in the opening half.
Carleton cut its deficit to 11 early in the second half, but SJU answered with a 14-5 run to put the game away.

Mitchell Kuck (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) led the Johnnies with 20 points, his third consecutive 20-point game and seventh of the season, on eight of 11 shooting and added five rebounds. Junior guard
Alex Schmitt (Waconia, Minn.) was the other Johnnie in double figures with 11 and collected four assists.
Kevin Grow led Carleton with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Knights out-rebounded SJU 36-33, including an 18-6 advantage on the offensive boards that led to a 17-9 scoring advantage in second-chance points. Although turnovers were even at 11, the home team tallied a 15-3 advantage in points off the miscues.
The Johnnies return to the road for a 7 p.m. game against Macalester on Monday, Feb. 16, at the Leonard Center in St. Paul.
