Box ScoreST. PAUL, Minn. – Saint John's basketball out-scored Hamline 50-18 in the paint and shot 58 percent from the field to snap a three-game losing streak in Hutton Arena with an 83-70 win over the Pipers on Wednesday, Dec. 9, in St. Paul.
SJU (7-1, 2-1 MIAC) shot 64.3 percent (18-for-28) from the field, 15 of 18 (83.3 percent) from inside the three-point arc, to gain a 42-35 halftime lead.
The Johnnies started the second half with six straight points, but Hamline (3-4, 1-1 MIAC) countered with a 14-3 run to cut SJU's lead to just two (51-49) with 15:46 left. The visitors answered, however, with a similar (15-3) run of their own and hovered around a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Mitchell Kuck (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) led all scorers, and five Johnnies in double figures, with 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Senior guard

The Johnnies return home to host Bethel (7-0, 2-0 MIAC) for a 3 p.m. game this Saturday, Dec. 12, in Sexton Arena.
