COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's shot 66.7 percent from the field, including 61.1 percent (11-for-18) from three-point range, in a 92-69 non-conference win over Minnesota-Morris on Thursday, Nov. 20, in Collegeville.
Freshman guard
Patrick Strom (Fargo, N.D./Shanley) made a great first impression in his Sexton Arena debut with three-pointers on three consecutive possessions, over a 1:18 span, to give SJU (1-1 overall) an 18-9 lead five minutes into the game. Strom led SJU with 19 points in the first half and finished with 22 for the night on 7 of 11 shooting, including a 6-for-9 performance from behind the arc.
The Johnnies broke the game open with a 13-2 run late in the first half and took a 49-35 lead into the break. The home team went on an 18-2 run over a 6:50 span to post a 69-41 lead and put the game away with 11:29 remaining.

Mitchell Kuck (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) led all scorers with a career-high 31 points on 11 of 13 shooting (4-for-5 from three-point). He added five assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes of play.

Tarik Hujdurovic (Tuzla, Bosnia/Saint John's Prep) collected six points and six assists in his first varsity start.

SJU registered 25 points off 13 UMM turnovers and posted a 32-21 advantage on the glass.
