ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Saint John's University freshman forward Huba Sekesi (Germering, Germany) tallied a hat trick as the Johnnies completed a weekend sweep of St. Olaf with a 4-2 win on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

Sekesi put SJU (4-0-2, 2-0-0 MIAC) on the scoreboard with his first collegiate goal, on the power play, 8:33 into the game. Senior defenseman Nick Senta (Savage, Minn.) and junior forward Tyson Fulton (Champlin, Minn.) assisted on the scoring play.

Sekesi added his second of the night 4:29 into the second period, with an assist going to classmate and former junior-hockey teammate Tyler Dunagan (Maple Grove, Minn.) and another to junior Alex Ach (Champlin, Minn.).

The Oles (1-5, 0-2 MIAC) erased the Johnnies' two-goal lead, however, with a pair of power-play goals in the third period.

Senior John Carroll (Eagan, Minn.) tallied what proved to be the game-winning goal with 2:18 remaining. Carroll gained the zone, split the STO defense and found the top corner of the net for his second tally of the season. Dunagan added his second assist of the night and sophomore defenseman Daniel Tripicchio (Hudson, Wis.) collected the other for his first collegiate point.

Sekesi completed the hat trick, SJU's first since John Haeg in 2012 (Oct. 28 vs. Saint Mary's), with three seconds remaining. Senior captain Dave Mylrea (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and junior goaltender Saxton Soley (Elk Mound, Wis.) posted the assists.

Soley improved to 3-0-2 on the year with 21 saves in net. SJU out-shot the Oles 32-23, including a 26-15 advantage after the first period.

The Johnnies play host to Saint Mary's for a pair of games at the Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC) next weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck-drop for "Pack the MAC" night on Friday, Nov. 21.
