Junior Patrick Butcher (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) and senior Chris Orgas (Lakeville, Minn./North) led SJU with 11 and 10 points off the bench, respectively. The Johnnies out-rebounded Bethel 40-33, including an eye-opening 21-9 advantage on the offensive glass. The visitors, however, only turned the 21 offensive boards into 20 points, made only one of their 14 three-point attempts and committed 16 turnovers on the night.

Taylor Hall led all scorers with 22 points. Quinn Gorski and J.D. Robinson followed with 17 and 15 points, respectively, while Jared Nelson hit four three-pointers off the bench.

The Johnnies return home to host Augsburg for a 7:30 p.m. game Monday, Jan. 7, at Sexton Arena in Collegeville.

Notes: The 27-point margin eclipsed the previous worst loss for SJU in the series' history, which was an 84-61 decision on Feb. 11, 2004, in Arden Hills…the Johnnies lead the series with a 50-24 record…16 of the 24 losses took place in Arden Hills...junior point guard Kevin McKenzie (De Pere, Wis./Notre Dame Academy) reached the 100-assist plateau for his career in tonight's loss.
