COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's won six of the nine swimming events in a 95.5-63.5 dual win over Morningside (Iowa) on Friday, Nov. 16, in Collegeville.
Sophomore Logan Arnold (Moorhead, Minn.) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.97) and a trio of freshmen won the three other individual events. Nolan Bauer (Helena, Mont.) edged Morningside's Taylor McCloskey by 0.17 of a second to win the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.55) and Preston Marsh (Petersburg, Alaska) posted a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (54.01). Braden McCormack (Rosemount, Minn.) claimed the 100-yard backstroke by five seconds (55.23).
Both SJU relays won their respective events by five seconds. The 200-yard freestyle relay (Arnold, Marsh, Connor Reilly, Connor Triggs) won with a time of 1:27.90, while the 200-yard individual medley (McCormack, Reilly, Triggs, Joe Duxbury) posted a time of 1:40.10.
The Johnnies host Morningside and Gustavus Adolphus for a triangular meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in Collegeville.
