SJU Ends Season With Semifinal Loss in MIAC Playoffs

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Nationally-ranked Carleton took advantage of two second-half goals in a 2-0 win over Saint John's in the MIAC Playoff Semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Northfield.

Will Corcoran put No. 12 Carleton (17-1-1, 8-1-1 MIAC) on the scoreboard at the 61:23 mark and Alex Voorhes padded the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining in the match.

Freshman goalkeeper Kevin Lebahn (New Hope, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) made six saves for SJU (9-6-4, 6-2-2- MIAC), which was outshot 22-6 (8-3 on goal) in the contest. Junior Joe Balder (Stillwater, Minn.), junior Elliott Olsen (East Bethel, Minn./St. Francis) and sophomore Ian Scudder each had a shot on goal.

The Knights play host to Gustavus Adolphus, which defeated St. Thomas 1-0 in its semifinal Tuesday, for the MIAC Playoff Championship Saturday, Nov. 3, in Northfield. Carleton and Gustavus tied for the regular-season title.
