Senior Nick Roscoe (Eau Claire, Wis.) was then called for a five-minute major for boarding nine seconds later. Ryan McElhone made it 4-1 2:08 later and Jordan VanGilder added an empty-net goal with 14 seconds remaining in the contest.

Hamline entered Friday's game at 14.9 percent on the power-play, thanks to a 0-for-5 showing Thursday night, but went 3-for-5 on the home ice. The Johnnies, meanwhile, were just 1-for-6 on the man advantage, which included a measly 14-second power play at the end of the game.

Senior Tony Civello (Shoreview, Minn.) made 33 saves in the loss.

SJU was without freshman John Haeg (Lakeville, Minn.), the team's leader in points with 19 (4g/15a), as well as junior Jascha Pettit (Wadena, Minn.), the team's leader with eight goals.

The Johnnies travel to take on Saint Mary's for a pair of games next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, in Winona.
