Saint John's (2-2-2, 1-0-1 MIAC) returns to MIAC play this Saturday, Sept. 25, at Gustavus Adolphus. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. in St. Peter.

A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: In their most recent match, the Johnnies lost 1-0 to Central (Iowa) on a penalty kick by Central's Brett McKenzie on Sept. 19. Junior Mike Sikich (Apple Valley, Minn.) made five saves but allowed the lone goal 13:10 into the contest. SJU tied St. Olaf 1-1 on Sept. 18 in Northfield. Senior forward #A.J. Sollom# (Roberts, Wis./River Falls) scored his first goal of the season just under two minutes into the match to give SJU an early 1-0 lead. Freshman midfielder Michael Coborn (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) assisted on the play. The Oles tied the match with 44 seconds remaining in regulation on an own-goal.
A LOOK AT GUSTAVUS: Gustavus scored five unanswered goals on its way to a 5-1 win over Bethany Lutheran on Sept. 21. Five different players scored for the Gusties, who improved to 3-3-1 (0-1-1 MIAC) on the season. Evan Odean tied the game off a corner kick by Max Malquist in the 20th minute. Doug Frey gave Gustavus the lead for good with a goal at the 27:25 mark with an assist from Ben Ikeda. Gustavus broke the game open in the second half on goals by Justin Egleseder, Mark Adams, and Max Malmquist.
THE LAST MEETING: Saint John's won 1-0 last season against Gustavus. Eric Bell scored off a rebound at the 70th minute. Sophomore defender Ryan Fuchs (St. Michael, Minn./Rogers) chipped a shot off Gustie keeper Luke Strom, where Bell was waiting on the uncontrolled save. Luke Nelson made eight saves to record his second shutout of the season and the seventh of his career.
