ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Wisconsin-Superior held on to a 3-2 win at Saint John's on Thursday, Nov. 4.
The Yellowjackets (2-1-0, 1-1-0 NCHA) outshot the Johnnies 30-27 in the game, thanks to a 15-5 advantage in the opening period. SJU, however, retaliated with an 11-6 shot advantage in the third period, including numerous scoring chances late in regulation. The Johnnies have now outshot their opponents 64-40 from the second period on this season.

Tobias Linbro (Nykvarn, Sweden) scored his first career goal just 22 seconds into the game, with assists going to senior
Mike Wallgren (Oakdale, Minn.) and junior
Conor Rooney (Stillwater, Minn.).
Superior tied the game at 1-1 with a 5-on-3 power-play goal from Jeff Forsythe at the 14:05 mark of the first period. The Yellowjackets built a 3-1 lead with a pair of second-period goals less than four minutes apart.
Sophomore
Jascha Pettit (Wadena, Minn.) tallied his first goal of the year at the 12:03 mark of the second period to cut the deficit to 3-2. Sophomores
Joe Harren (Warroad, Minn.) and
Michael Palmiscno (East Grand Forks, Minn.) were credited with assists.
Junior
Tony Civello (Shoreview, Minn.) made 27 saves in the loss.
The power-play woes continued for the Johnnies, as they are now 0-for-14 following their 0-for-3 showing tonight.
SJU (0-3-0, 0-0-0 MIAC) returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 6, against No. 11 St. Scholastica. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
