WAVERLY, Iowa – Saint John's University junior midfielder Colin Hall (Maple Grove, Minn.) scored two goals to lead the Johnnies to a 2-1 win over Dubuque (Iowa) on Saturday, Sept. 12. The match was held on the campus of Wartburg in Waverly, Iowa.
Hall placed a header in the back of the net off a corner kick by sophomore Charles Hamm (Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray) to give SJU (2-1, 0-0 MIAC) a 1-0 lead at the 17:13 mark.
Dubuque (3-1-1, 0-0-0 IIAC) tied the game 12 minutes later on a goal from Idrissa Soumaoro.
Hall then tallied the game winner, his third goal of the young season, off a cross-pass from junior #J.C. Artavia# (White Bear Lake, Minn.) at the 53:45 mark of the second half.
Senior goalkeeper Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) made five saves to improve his record to 2-0 on the season.
The Johnnies begin conference play at 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday, Sept. 16, at nationally-ranked Augsburg.
