SJU Soccer Travels to New York City for Two Matches Over Long Weekend

Saint John's (4-6, 1-4 MIAC) travels to New York for a pair of matches over Long Weekend. The Johnnies will face the City College of New York at 2:30 p.m. CST Friday, Oct. 9, then Baruch (N.Y.) at 10 a.m. CST Sunday, Oct. 11.

A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: SJU is riding a three-game losing streak following its 1-0 loss at Hamline on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Matt Warhol scored the match's lone goal, his third of the season, at the 64:09 mark of the second half for Hamline (5-7-1, 1-3-1 MIAC). Senior Luke Nelson (Caledonia, Minn.) made five saves in the loss for SJU. The win is just the third for the Pipers in the past 29 meetings with SJU.

A LOOK AT CCNY: The Beavers are currently 1-9-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the CUNY. Dennis Guthui leads the team with seven points (3g/1a), while goalkeeper Tayfun Kucuk has a 2.82 GAA in 830 minutes in net.

A LOOK AT THE BEARCATS: Baruch is currently 4-4-3 overall and in first place atop the CUNY with a 4-0-2 record. Freddy Carrasco leads the squad with 17 points (8g/1a). Nelson DiBastiano has a 1.95 GAA average in 924 minutes in goal, but just a .706 save percentage.
