Johnnies Lose Heartbreaker in Overtime

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Carleton's Ryan Cammarota scored with 1:27 remaining in the first overtime to give the Knights a 3-2 victory over Saint John's on Sunday, Sept. 14 in Collegeville.

Carleton (5-0-1, 1-0-1 MIAC), ranked No. 21 nationally, led 2-0 at the half thanks to goals from Bobby Phillips (9:03) and Ross Hamilton (40:20).

Senior forward Kellen Groves (Stillwater, Minn.) put the Johnnies on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal 2:34 into the second half. The Johnnies then tied the game on a backwards header from senior midfielder Levi Lowell (Stillwater, Minn.) with 1:01 left in regulation to send the game to overtime. The goal came off of a free kick from freshman defender Chris Hagen (Blacksburg, Va.).

SJU outshot the Knights 18-16 in the game, including an 11-7 advantage on goal.

The Johnnies (4-2, 0-2 MIAC) travel to face Minn.-Morris this Tuesday, Sept. 16. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Big Cat Stadium in Morris. Live video of the match will be available online at ummcougars.com.
