PASADENA, Calif. – Sophomore wing Chris Schwartz (Sioux Falls, S.D./Lincoln) scored 25 points, including 21 off three-pointers, to lead Saint John's to a 75-61 win over Occidental (Calif.) Saturday, Nov. 29 in Pasadena, Calif.
Schwartz was seven of 13 from behind the arc in just 26 minutes of action. Freshmen Andrew Latzke (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) and Andy Burns (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka ) added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Sophomore wing Aaron Burtzel (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori) collected eight points and 11 minutes while playing all 40 minutes for the Johnnies (1-3, 0-0 MIAC).
The Tigers' Henry Meier led Occidental (2-4, 0-0 SCIAC) with 22 points.
SJU returns to action at Bethel Wednesday, Nov. 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Robertson Center in Arden Hills.
