The Collegeville Ultra is our first attempt at sustainable trail races in the beautiful Saint John’s Abbey Arboretum. Explore the Arboretum through a mix of prairie, oak savanna, hardwood forest, conifer forest, lakes and wetlands through the 10-mile loop.

  • Date: Sunday, May 3, 2026
  • Time: All races start at 9:00 a.m. near the Saint John’s Durenberger Athletic Fields (bathrooms available).
  • Packet pickup: 7:30 a.m.on race day.
Race Distances: Three options:
  • 10-Mile Race: 1 loop
  • 20-Mile Race: 2 loops
  • 50k Race: 3 loops + a little
Aid Stations: You must check-in at each aid station and record your race number. There are two aid stations per loop. Aid station #1 is located at the start of the race and will have space for drop bags. Aid station #2 is located near the Stone Gate and is easily accessible by crews via the Old Entrance Road. Runners will pass Aid Station #2 twice during each loop. Note: to minimize environmental impact, this is a cupless event. Runners are responsible for carrying their own containers.

Pacing/ Crewing: Pacing by someone not entered in the race is not allowed.  Crews may assist runners at aid station locations. Stashing supplies along the course is not allowed.

Awards:
  • Participants registered before April 13th will be guaranteed a race t-shirt.
  • Finisher medallion for each distance.
  • Fastest first lap regardless of entered race distance.
  • Top three men/women in each distance.
Rules:
  • No littering (= DNF)
  • No course cutting (= DNF)

  • 10-mile race: $25
  • 20-mile race: $50
  • 50-k race: $75
Course Description:
The course may change based on trail conditions. The course will start at the Durenberger Athletic Fields. The course heads through the prairie on the Boardwalk Loop using double track trails and crosses two wooden boardwalks before connecting to the Pine Knob Trail. The trail heads to Aid Station #2 at the Stone Gate. Follow to the end of Old Entrance Road (paved) and turn right to connect to Old St. Joe Road. Run past the Maple Sugar Shack on the Logging Road (dirt and double track). The trail connects to the Hillary Lake Trail and the Chapel Trail before returning to Aid Station #2 at the Stone Gate and finishes the Pine Knob Trail to Durenberger Fields.

The trail will be marked with flagging. Trail intersections will be designated with arrows.
