Saint John's University junior running back Jakob Reding (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led all rushers with 122 yards on 32 carries and added a one-yard touchdown in the Johnnies' 20-17 overtime win over St. Thomas last Saturday in Collegeville. He earned MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance.

The 122 yards was the first 100-yard rushing performance of his career and first for SJU since Mike Patnode’s 113 yards against Redlands (Calif.) on Nov. 17, 2007 (a span of 18 games). He also led the Johnnies with three receptions for 15 yards in the game.

The Johnnies essentially doubled the Tommies’ average run defense total (95.2 ypg) with 167 yards (200 without the minus-33 yards on the botched punt attempt).

SJU (7-0, 5-0 MIAC), ranked No. 5 nationally, plays host to St. Olaf (3-3, 1-3 MIAC) as part of Family Weekend this Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
