Saint John’s freshman sprinter Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace) broke his own school record in the 100-meter dash May 11 at the MIAC Outdoor Championships. His record time of 10.57 seconds was clocked in the prelim, en route to his 100-meter championship. Miller won the final in comeback fashion, running down five-time All-American Emmanuel Egbujor of Augsburg over the final 50 meters, in 10.59 seconds.

The 100-meter dash title is the first for a Johnnie runner since Lee Clintsman ’05 won back-to-back championships in 2004 and 2005.

Miller took home a total of three All-MIAC honors (top-three finish, championship relay) in his inaugural outdoor season, after placing third in the 200-meter dash (21.91) and serving as the final leg of SJU's 4x100-meter relay, a team of fellow freshmen (Nick Gannon, Brady Labine and Charles Haik) in a time of 42.05 seconds.

The Johnnies wrap up their regular-season schedule Thursday, May 11, at Wisconsin-La Crosse's Last-Chance Qualifier.
