Saint John's freshman sprinter Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace) broke a 50-year old school record in the 100-meter dash as the Johnnies finished third out of 12 teams at Macalester's Bolstorff Twilight April 26. He won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.61 seconds, which broke the previous school record of 10.64 seconds (a conversion from the handheld time of 10.4 seconds) set by Dave Lamm '68 at the 1968 NAIA Championships. Miller was named the MIAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week May 1 for his performance.

Miller's time of 10.61 seconds was the fifth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season (is now eighth). He also won the 200-meter dash Thursday night with a time of 22.76 seconds.

The Johnnies return to St. Paul to compete at the annual Meet of Saints, hosted by St. Thomas, at noon Saturday, May 5. The meet serves as the final tune-up for the MIAC Outdoor Championships May 11-12 at Carleton in Northfield.
