Saint John's senior Matthew Burgstahler (Sandpoint, Idaho) finished fourth overall, second among collegiate runners, with a time of 21:06 as SJU opened its 2017 season with a win out of six teams Saturday at the 4-mile Luther Invitational.

The Johnnies return to action in two weeks when they host their alumni on Saturday, Sept. 23, in Collegeville. The race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. near the water tower (Saint John's Prep).
