Senior second baseman Brett Becker (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single in game one and a three-for-four performance in game two, including a bases clearing triple, as SJU swept Macalester (5-4 and 20-3) April 21.
Becker is batting an eye-opening .515 (17-for-33) from the No. 9 spot in the order with nine runs scored, eight RBI, a double and a triple during the 11-game hitting streak. He currently leads the MIAC in batting average (.489, 22-for-45) and on-base percentage (.531) in 14 conference games.
The Johnnies (19-12, 9-5 MIAC) take a six-game winning streak to St. Paul for a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader against Hamline on Wednesday, April 29, at CHS Stadium, the new home of the St. Paul Saints. SJU's home finale is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, against Gustavus Adolphus.
