Saint John's junior shortstop Logan Hershey (Maple Grove, Minn.) reached base safely in all nine games and ended the Johnnies' spring-break trip on an eight-game hit streak, batting .471 (16-for-34) with a .526 on-base percentage on the week.
He batted 1-for-6 in the trip’s finale, which concluded a grueling five-day excursion to Ft. Myers that consisted of nine games. Hershey played all 68 innings at shortstop and entered the final game batting .536 (15-for-28).
The Johnnies’ five opponents on the trip have a combined 28-17 record so far this season (as of March 8).
SJU travels to Tucson, Ariz., for six games March 19-21. That is, unless the warm weather warrants newly-scheduled game/s in Collegeville before March 18.
