COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University senior tight end Joey Gendreau (Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Gendreau led the Johnnies' receiving corps with eight catches for 124 yards – the first 100-yard receiving game of his career – and two touchdowns in SJU's 49-0, season-opening win over Minnesota-Morris on Saturday (Sept. 13) in Collegeville.

The performance enabled Gendreau to move into fourth place on SJU's tight ends list with 100 career receptions and is fifth in receiving yards (1,300) and receiving touchdowns (13).

No. 4/5 SJU (1-0 overall) travels to face Hamline (1-0 overall) for the MIAC opener at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Klas Field in St. Paul.
