Saint John's University sophomore diver Wes Schlichting (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) will compete in two diving events at the NCAA Division III Championships this week. He will compete in the 3-meter dive on Wednesday, March 17, and the 1-meter dive on Friday, March 19. Prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. both events, followed by the finals at 6 p.m. The meet will be held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

Schlichting earned All-MIAC honors with a second-place finish in the 3-meter dive and claimed fourth in the 1-meter dive at the 2010 MIAC Championships. He is one of 22 divers competing for the title this week in both competitions. He provisionally qualified for nationals in both diving events at the Macalester meet Jan. 29-30 and again in the 3-meter dive at the MIAC Championships.
