COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's, ranked No. 10 in the latest Division III rankings, defeated Ridgewater 34-10 on Thursday, Dec. 10, in Collegeville.

Ridgewater opened the dual with an early 4-0 lead due to a major decision at 125 pounds. Senior Mogi Baatar (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia / St. Benedict's Prep (N.J.), ranked No. 1 in Division III, then received a forfeit win at 133 pounds to give SJU (5-2 dual record) a 6-4 lead. The Warriors re-gained the led at 7-6 with a decision at 141 pounds before freshmen Charlie Kirscht (Garfield, Minn./Alexandria) and Chris Stevermer (Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) combined for nine points to make it 15-7 in favor of SJU. Kirscht posted a 10-4 win at 149 pounds before Stevermer pinned his opponent in 1:06.

The Johnnies then posted four consecutive wins in the upper weights following a Warrior decision at 165. Junior Dustin Raygor (St. Croix Falls, Wis.) pinned his opponent at 2:08, while junior James Carlson (Royalton, Minn.) tallied a 14-4 major decision at 184 pounds. Junior Dustin Baxter (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley) recorded a 6-1 decision and sophomore Cody Socher (Delano, Minn.) ended the dual with a pin in 4:28.

The Johnnies continue dual action at Wis.-Whitewater's Duals at the Dells this Saturday, Dec. 12. The Johnnies are scheduled to face three nationally-ranked teams: No. 19 Whitewater (6:30 p.m.); No. 1 Wis.-La Crosse (8 p.m.); and No. 28 Heidelberg, Ohio (9:30 p.m.). The dual tournament will be held at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
